Last night, at the annual The Lawson Group Sigma-One Trust Meeting & Dinner, our team at Colt Recycling proudly received the coveted Pigasus Award for 2025 in recognition of our outstanding safety culture. Among our representatives on site were Donna Mitchell, Heath Carder, Jodi Morris, Rabecca Hemond, and Joshua Hemond—each embodying our commitment to safe, sustainable operations.

Why this matters
The Lawson Group, headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire, has been delivering employee health and safety consulting, industrial hygiene, wellness programs, and workers ‘ compensation services since 1978. The Lawson Group, a trusted partner for companies across New England, hosts the Sigma-One Trust event each year to bring together member companies, recognize excellence, and reinforce a safety culture in the workplace.
For Colt Recycling, receiving the Pigasus Award is a meaningful acknowledgment of our team’s dedication to each other, to our clients, and to the environment. It highlights that, beyond our recycling services, operations, and logistics, safety is at the forefront of our culture.
Spotlight on Colt’s Safety Culture
At Colt Recycling, we believe that a strong safety culture is foundational—not simply a compliance checkbox. Key elements of our approach include:
- Empowering every team member to stop work if something doesn’t feel safe, fostering a proactive mindset rather than waiting for incidents.
- Regular training, audits, and refreshers are built into our workflows for all sites: Hudson, NH; Merrimack, NH; Hickory, NC; and San Marcos, TX.
- Transparent reporting, continuous improvement, and sharing lessons learned across facilities so that one site’s insight benefits the entire network.
- Celebrating milestones, recognizing near-misses as learning opportunities, and reinforcing that safety excellence comes from working together.

Why does this set us apart?
Receiving the Pigasus Award is more than a trophy—it signals to our customers (businesses, OEMs, corporations) that when they entrust us with electronics recycling, asset disposition, data destruction, or sustainable reuse, they are partnering with a company where safety, quality, and environmental integrity are deeply embedded.
This aligns perfectly with our certifications—R2v3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001—applied across all locations, ensuring consistent, high-standard performance regardless of where you’re shipping to or from.
Proud moment, stronger future
We are proud of this achievement, and we extend our thanks to the Lawson Group for their ongoing support of safety excellence in the industry. However, we also view this as a stepping stone. We will continue to raise the bar, integrate feedback, and push for safer conditions, zero harm, and stronger collaboration with our clients and partners.
To our customers and partners: when you choose Colt Recycling, you aren’t just choosing a certified electronics recycler capable of nationwide service—you’re choosing a partner committed to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence.
